Approximately 60% of the professionals in our office have a smoking habit (IT industry). Besides the health risk, we are concerned about productivity. We do not have an EAP plan, however our benefits plan will pay 100% for smoking cessation programs. The trouble is that smoking is ingrained among the group. As part of the Company's culture and through positive reinforcement, we are wanting to try and encourage as many as we can to kick the habit this year. The idea is fully supported by the President and Senior Management team, who interesting enough, do not smoke. I am looking for ideas and suggestions for creating a non-smoking campaign. If you have had any success in this and are willing to share ideas, policies, and/or practices, please let me know.

first of all have one formal meeting with all stating them your view what you really want to make every body clear that you want to finish smoking from your organisation.
secondly ask for their opinion ?
do they also want it ?
send a regular email of idsadvantage of smoking ?
show some dramas on it.
lastly you can use some medicine or ulternate too ...
see i tell you every one from deepdown from thier heart want to leave bad habbit if you can do this you will be really called great...and will do a gret to society too

Perhaps your health care provider / broker or a local physician's group can assist with specific Kick the Habit campaigns.
I would take the approach of weight loss initiatives, a la Weight Watchers, whereby you have weekly employee "weigh ins" which could more take the form of a support group with a trained professional. I heard a commercial by a manufacturer of the patch or other cessation device that indicated that those interventions are much more successful when partnered with a support / counseling component. Good luck!
