I have read your statements. I am glad I am not alone. I have over 30 yrs of experience and have been unemployed for a year. One job asked for a high school diploma and 1 yr expereince. They sent a me a "no thank you" email saying I wasn't qualified. This is getting ridiculous. But I keep applying in hopes that someone out there is not intimidated by my experience. Say a prayer for me. |

Susanchin I agree.. I am of the view that age does not matter. Although accumulated experience is equally invaluable as qualities of innovation and creativity, the decision to employ someone should largely depend on his ability to perform. |

^well yeah but the ability to do the job can still be measured by experience. if you get the young ones, you probably have training modules for newbies or some kind of big brother program with them from the old guys. I know there are lot of people out there who might think that they didn't get hired because of the age but it is mostly the skills set you offer. I myself don't have any problem hiring people of any age, what they bring to the table is what matters. |
