I've been w/ the company for almost 6 yrs. but I went on medical leave for almost 8 months, when I came back, my employer transferred me to a diff. store and will pay me with the starting wage of newly hired people, w/c is way too low from what I'm getting paid right now. I also lost my seniority and my days off plus the shift that I've been working on for years. My health benefits were lost too bec. they say that we could only be gone for 1 month in order to retain our position and benefits in the company.
QUESTION: can they really do that? how long can an employee w/ serious med. condition be out legally and still keep their seniority?
