Our company is discussing when the office should be open/closed over the upcoming Christmas season. We are a small conservation organizarion (non profit) and as such do not offer bonuses at year end.

Our company is discussing when the office should be open/closed over the upcoming Christmas season. We are a small conservation organizarion (non profit) and as such do not offer bonuses at year end. Does anyone have any insight into this? Can we do this in 2007 without having to commit every year. What would that look like?
By the way, I have read the comments from previous years and did not find them helpful for us. Thanks in advance! |

Yes, you can close one year and not another.
Simply write a memo, policy, that states that the Company reserves the right to close due to slow business or low business demands without prior notice to any employes. The Company also reserves the right to be open when previously announced to be closed due to high business demands. In the event of the business being open employees maybe called into work with a minimal or no prior notice. As long as it is based on the needs and best interest of the business no Government organization is going to interfere. |
