Our job descriptions have the job qualification requirements such as education, experience, etc. To further assist in the selection process, I am considering including language that would assist in determning the "sutibility" of the applicant. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Job description means job roles and responsibilities (activities to be done by that particular job position) in addition to qualification & experience requirements. You may prepare a list of position wise responsibilities of all the positions of all the departments. Then while selection process, you may compare the knowledge & skill level of the candidate with the job position requirements listed. You may be able to find the best suitability of the candidate for the particular position.

Not to be confused with my lowercase doppleganger...
Suitability can be a dangerous concept. A synonym for fit but with riskier connotations you need to be very careful how you apply it. Personally I wouldn't put it in a job description but search for it with behavior based questions.

I agree..
Checking Suitability is not the objective of a Job Description exercise. Suitability can be looked at throughJob Evaluation or through identifying skill gaps.

Daily Q&A
How to Address Flagging Motivation?
How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
