I've been a HR generalist for almost 5 years involving good hands-on experience in different HR and payroll software. I'm quite technical as a HR professional but of course not at a programmer/technician level. However, I find myself most interested in HRIS and thinking to move my career into this special field. How should I start? Should I take some special class to get my foot into this area? Could any existing HRIS specialists shred some light here? Thanks.

My job is slowly moving towards an analyst/ HRIS specialist. I would like to know more about it too.

Daily Q&A
How to Address Flagging Motivation?
How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
