I am currenty an Operations Manager for Sears Logisitcs and handle the HR functions for unit with support from my Regional HR. I have done similar duties at other jobs I have worked since getting out of the Coast Guard. My undergrad is in HR and I am planning to my MBA in it as well. Has my ship set sail for HR? I am willing to forward my resume for someone to look just so I can get advice on my next steps. I enjoy operations and seeing how HR is now becoming more of a strategic busniess partner with organizations I still wold like to transition into the field...any suggestions

I don't think your ship has left the dock at all. Your line experience in operations will serve you well in an HR role. The MBA is a great break point for a career change provided that you're getting the MBA from an AACBS accredited institution. Keep in mind, though, that the initial value of the MBA in HR will be to help you move into HR. Later, the MBA will be invaluable in advancing your HR career within the business.

I have narrowed it down to Temple, Drexel, and Villanova Universities. I welcome your thoughts...

Seems like you're totally focused on the Philadephia area. Any of those would be fine, I'm sure. Certainly check out the MBA placement office at each of those schools and ask the question "what was the school related placement rate for HR MBA's within 90 days of graduation?" School related refers to jobs sourced through the school's efforts rather than just the students, and the 90 day from graduation is a standard reference point amongst MBA programs. Feel free to email me with any responses you get that seem to fall into the smoke and mirrors category and for which you'd like a second opinion.
If the rates arent' good, then perhaps you need to look a little further afield. Cornell, Michigan State and Illinois have typically had the top 3 HR graduate programs. Closer to you, West Virginia has a good one and I believe Rutgers as well.
