HELP!!! I NEED SOME BUSINESS PARTNER WORDS!!!

I have to go into a meeting in about 8.5 hours where I need to convince senior management that if HR at this company is to be a true business partner, HR should not be responsible for organizing holiday parties, baby and wedding showers, barbecues and picnics, potluck lunches, and bereavement flowers/cards. I have some ideas on what I might say but can use all the help I can get. Any and all ideas, phrases (even entire paragraphs!), websites, and yes, sympathy too, will be much appreciated.
