Years ago I took a class at a local college which used the SHRM Learning System. Today you have a lot more choices and tools produced by outside suppliers (other than SHRM or HRCI). My advice would be to pick the medium that you like the best; ie. classroom, textbook, online, study group etc. If you can get access to the SHRM board, they have one on certification where you can likely get the scoop on current tools available, and sometimes buy them 2nd hand.
Iâd also recommend doing some trial tests to determine which subjects you need to focus on. Even though I had a fair amount of experience when I sat for the first exam, I had little knowledge of things like collective bargaining, organizational development and such. Consequently I needed to concentrate on those areas.
Good luck

Daily Q&A
How to Address Flagging Motivation?
How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
