Hey,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the current employment trends for HR Assistant jobs in New York City.
I have previous office experience which have included a broad range of HR duties and I am looking for HR Assistant entry level jobs in New York City. I don't yet have contacts in the area for networking, since I'm currently relocating there.

What are the best job search routes?
There seems to be quite a number of jobs advertised, but would you agree that competition is fierce?
Would you recommend New York as a good city for such entry level jobs or would a different city be better for such break in roles?

I am just trying to get a feel for the current job market for such roles in NYC or should i focus elsewhere?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Regardless of location, the BEST job search method is to network. Everything else pales in comparison.

Make sure that every person on the planet that you have a connection to knows what your job target is. By everyone I mean, everyone you ever worked with or for, everyone you do business with or buy stuff from, all your neighbors, everyone that you know through your religious affiliation, etc.

Make sure that you have 2 minute commercial wherein you can tell your "story". If you do not know what this is tell me and I will post a sample.

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
