A member writes: "Has anyone ever had a supervisor authorize an employee to go to a function for CEU's in their field, not pay for the travel or the CEU class, but allow them to not have to take PTO for the time out? We have a supervisor that just did this and we are all scratching our heads on how to handle. Do the two go hand in hand, if it is work, is it work and the company should pay for the seminar, travel and compensate the employee with paid time for such, OR can you really strike a deal and break it into parts?"
