Partnering: The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is developing a new
training and certification program for Accenture, a global consulting firm with
annual revenue of $16.6 billion. MIT’s Office of Professional Education Programs
will provide the Accenture Solutions Delivery Academy with “ongoing review of
the academy’s educational content, student assessments and overall program
design,” with input from MIT engineering professors. It is billed as the largest
such initiative undertaken by MIT, with the first participants expected to
receive certifications in August. About 20,000 Accenture employees are eligible
to enroll in the program. Employees who successfully complete the program will
be awarded “application developer” or “application designer” certifications,
recognizing software engineering, system integration and application delivery
skills.
