Three Cheers for Wellness: Employers with the best wellness programs were recognized last month by the National Business Group on Health in the Washington-based organization’s third annual Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyle awards.

Among the 41 winners were Baptist Health South Florida, Hannaford Bros., Dell, IBM, Motorola, Pitney Bowes and Union Pacific Railroad.

Baptist Health South Florida, a not-for-profit health system in the Miami area, introduced a trans-fat-free cafeteria; employees at Dell earned an average of $303 in incentives for participating in wellness programs; and Hannaford Bros. created a network of high-quality doctors and “Centers of Excellence” to identify the best surgical care nationwide.
