Right Place, Right Time: Yet another survey is out purporting to define what
job seekers want most of all. U.K.-based workplace consulting firm Croner says
that, contrary to common belief, job seekers aren’t after the most money.
Instead, the top attribute is location (47 percent), followed closely by
“holiday entitlement” (43 percent). Nearly 40 percent of job seekers list
flexible schedules and ample bonuses as priorities. In some areas, the gap
between workers’ perceptions and those of employers is significant. Only 28
percent of candidates cite professional development as important, compared with
52 percent of employers. Likewise, workplace culture is ranked as important by
55 percent of companies but only 38 percent of workers.
