Law Firms Advocate for Work/Life Balance
Slashing turnover at law offices is a primary goal.
By Garry Kranz
Keep All the Attorneys? The Project for Attorney Retention is trying to give
lawyers a better name. Although in existence since 2000, the group recently
welcomed 23 law firms as “founding members.” It hopes to “stem unwanted
attrition among lawyers” by championing work/life balance and promoting the advancement of women in the legal profession. Helping get the project off the ground is the Center
for Workplace Law at the University of California’s Hastings College of Law.
