More Than a Match: Job seekers want to advance their careers, and when it comes
to what they want from a new employer, matching 401(k) contributions rank
relatively low on a long list, according to a survey published by Jobfox.com.
The online job board surveyed 6,000 job seekers regarding what they were looking
for in a new job. Fifty-five percent said career advancement was most important,
while 41 percent said they want more leadership responsibility. Work/life
balance was the next most important factor. Twenty-eight percent said that when
they look for a new job, they most often seek a 401(k) match and higher salary.
