Job Site, UNLV Want to Know ‘Best Companies’ for Older Job Seekers

Workers 40 and older are invited to name firms with most friendly hiring practices.
By Garry Kranz

Life Begins at 40: Workers 40 and older are being sought to provide input for a new survey aimed at determining which companies offer the best employment for the age group. The survey is being prepared by the Cannon Survey Center at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and job site Job 4.0 in Westport, Connecticut. Fueling interest in the research is a demographic statistic that indicates more than half of the U.S. workforce soon will be composed of people at least 40—a time when many job seekers find their credentials “overwhelmingly ignored by HR departments” that zero in on their age, not their abilities, Job says Steven J. Greenberg, CEO of Job 4.0. Participants can access the survey at Job 4.0’s Web site. Survey results are expected to be available in February.
