Medical Tourism: More than one in every 10 companies will pay for employees who
seek less expensive medical care outside the U.S., according to a survey
published by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. The survey,
which asked questions on a spectrum of health care benefit issues, said 11
percent of employers cover expenses related to medical tourism, indicating that
employers are beginning to warm to the idea of sending employees overseas for
medical care.
