Toll-free number gives employees a list of dos and donts for summertime apparel.

No Flip Flops Allowed: With summertime around the corner, companies once again
will have to begin reinforcing dress-code policies. The Association of Corporate
Counsel and its training partner, WeComply, are offering companies a free
two-minute phone message on the dos and don’ts of workplace attire.
Organizations can participate in two ways. They could have their employees call
a dedicated toll-free number to hear a standardized message about policies and
expectations, or they could pay an extra fee to tailor the message to specific
rules on appropriate dress. The two-minute message contains information that is
fairly common for companies. For instance, employees are counseled to shun
typical summer items such as flip-flops, “see-through or tight-fitting”
garments, or other clothing they might wear to “the gym, the beach or to clean
the garage.” At the conclusion, callers are prompted to take a quick quiz in
which they have to select violations of dress code from a series of hypothetical
scenarios.
