YouTube Policy and That Pesky First Amendment
- posted in the General
Forum
A member writes: "A recent occurrence where one employee
uploaded security camera footage onto the Internet has prompted
us to attempt to create a policy that addresses the Internet
and what responsibilities employees have to our company
in reference to how they communicate on the Web. Does anyone
have any key language to use (or not use) in drafting an
effective electronic media policy? In this YouTube age we
are attempting to protect what are legitimate company assets
(data/information/images) while not infringing on our employees’
First Amendment rights. The other problem we are running
into is how to say all we want while keeping it short and
as readable as possible."
