1. I commend Mr Ferguson’s article for identifying the need and importance of industry to take responsibility for Skills Training. I want to add a P.S. Without middle managers who are skilled at the core competency of Leadership and Management, a skilled workforce will still flounder.

    • I agree. There is no replacement for experience and achievement. Doesn’t matter whether Harvard or Cambridge. Don’t jump over dollars to pick up pennies. Acknowledge the advantages that will pay for themselves over and over again. Most newbies fail and retention of the good ones is difficult at best. Mentors have no reason to leave. Broaden your focus and diversify. The outcome will surprise you.
