A new Facebook application has been launched by the Social Jobs Partnership enables Facebook users to find and share employment opportunities. The app provides a central location where recruiters post open positions sorted by industry, location and skills. The app launched yesterday with more than 1.7 million employment opportunities provided by BranchOut, DirectEmployers, Work4Labs, Jobvite and Monster.com.

The Social Jobs Partnership includes the U.S. Department of Labor, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the DirectEmployers Association, the National Association of State Workforce Agencies and Facebook.

Facebook functions more like a search tool and is not hosting the job listings. Users find jobs through the app but are directed to other sites for more information on the job listings.

Staffing Industry Analysts is a sister company of Workforce Management. Comment below or email editors@workforce.com.

How Do We Keep Our Best During Upheaval?

Things are getting scary for us. We recently had to downsize, and since then have lost some of our best people to other jobs. Aside from boosting their pay (which isn't feasible now), what practical steps can we take to keep them from quitting on us?
