Dear Workforce:

How do you measure absenteeism? I'm in a large corporation and know what causes it and how to combat it but not how to calculate it.

A Dear Gary:

One way to calculate absenteeism is UAR = NUA / EWH

UAR is the unscheduled absence rate

NUA is the number of absences

EWH is the total work hours of all employees for the period (e.g. the month)
