People moving into key executive positions

Keith Crain Jr. has been named publisher of AutoWeek. Crain joined AutoWeek in June 2005 and was named ad director in April 2006. Prior to this he was a reporter at Automotive News, a sister publication of AutoWeek.

Tony Merpi has been named publishing director at AutoWeek. Merpi joined Automotive News in 1976 in advertising sales and most recently served as publisher of AutoWeek. In 2000 he was named vice president of Crain Communications, the parent company of AutoWeek and Automotive News.

Tony Foster has been named advertising sales manager at AutoWeek. Foster joined AutoWeek parent company Crain Communications in 1997 as a financial analyst. He then joined AutoWeek sister publication Automotive News in 1999 as sales representative. Foster most recently served as Midwest advertising manager for AutoWeek.

Robert Shannon has been appointed head of the Americas region for Mercer Human Resource Consulting. He joined a Mercer predecessor organization in 1985. Before his new appointment, Shannon was U.S. northeast zone leader and New York metro market leader at Mercer.

Ruth Clark has been appointed global chief talent director at Hill & Knowlton. Most recently she was senior vice president at Hill & Knowlton.

Michelle Moore has been appointed director of human resources for the Founders Inn of Virginia Beach, Virginia, a subsidiary of Benchmark Hospitality International. Moore previously was director of human resources for Hercules Real Estate Services.

Jim Deranek has been appointed director of recruitment for Benchmark Hospitality International. Prior to joining Benchmark, Deranek was associate director of recruiting and admissions for Purdue University.

Hank Marquis has joined Enterprise Management Associates as director of IT service management consulting. Prior to joining Enterprise, Marquis was with ITSM Solutions as chief technology officer and managing partner.

Peter Mierzwa has been promoted to general manager of codes and verdicts at the Law Bulletin Publishing Co. Mierzwa previously managed Law Bulletin’s Index Publishing Corp. Prior to joining the Law Bulletin, he was manager of product development for Thomson Corp.

Doug Solomon has joined IDEO as chief technology strategist. Prior to joining IDEO, he helped to create a nonprofit organization.

Teri Hires has joined Personnel Decisions International as assistant general manager. Most recently, Hires was area vice president at Drake Beam Morin. Prior to DBM, she led her own company, Hires Management Group, and was senior vice president of Lee Hecht Harrison.

Phil Peterson has been promoted to public-sector national practice leader at Aon Consulting. Peterson joined Aon in 1987. He formerly managed the company’s retirement and equity-based compensation practices.

Cecelia Evans has joined Aon Consulting as federal sector practice leader. Evans had worked for Monster Government Solutions as leader of the consulting solutions practice, which provides talent assessment and selection offerings for federal clients.

William Fornia has joined Aon Consulting as lead state retirement system actuary. Fornia has more than 27 years of consulting and actuarial experience with more than a dozen state retirement systems and numerous local systems.

Fiona Elliott has joined Mercer Sentinel Group as a consultant. Elliott previously was with ANZ, where she was program director for operational excellence.

Robin Solomon has joined Mercer Sentinel Group as a consultant in the Sydney, Australia, office. Prior to joining Mercer, Solomon was with Smith New Court in London, where he was national manager for fiduciary services.

Robert Morgan has been promoted to president of Hudson Search and Talent Management/Recruitment Outsourcing. Morgan was COO of Hudson Talent Management in North America. He has previously served as president of employment solutions and executive vice president of human resources at Spherion Corp., vice president of HR for Office Depot’s business services division and president of the Saratoga Institute.

Patricia McDermott has been named senior tax legislative and policy attorney at Venable. McDermott has more than 27 years of experience in the public sector, most recently as staff attorney with the IRS for the past 17 years.

Andrew Watt has been named COO of Futurestep. Watt was senior vice president and general manager at Kelly Services for the past 10 years.

Randy Nemetz has been named director of global development at the Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network. For the past 19 years, Nemetz has been with NutriScience Technologies. Since 1998 he had served as general manager of NutriScience’s international manufacturing and distribution business unit. Before that, he was the company’s finance director and product manager.

Christian Uber has been named manager of strategic development at Bernard Hodes Group’s Hodes QTrac and Consulting. Prior to joining Hodes, Uber held leadership positions in human resources and staffing at Place Properties and Randstad.

Jasmine Flowers has joined Bernard Hodes Group’s Hodes QTrac and Consulting as client consultant of strategic development. Before joining Hodes, Flowers worked as a human capital consultant with Deloitte Consulting.

Sandra Rutan has joined STG Inc. as vice president of human capital. Prior to joining STG, Rutan was human resource director for Direct Response Marketing. She also served as vice president of human resources for McDonald Bradley.

Johan DeKeyzer has joined Aon Consulting as senior vice president and West cluster practice leader of health and benefits. DeKeyzer most recently was with Hewitt Associates as a market leader for the West region.

Scot Butcher has joined Duff & Phelps as managing director in the business incentives advisory practice. Butcher joins Duff & Phelps from BDO Sidman, where he was international tax partner.

Jim Perakis has joined the board of directors at Vurv Technology. Perakis currently serves as chairman of Netkey.

Stefanie Cross-Wilson has been promoted to president of Hudson Search and Talent Management/Recruitment Outsourcing. Cross-Wilson most recently was managing director and acting CEO of the North American region at Hudson.

Edward L. Ford has been promoted to senior vice president of total recognition at Michael C. Fina. Ford joined Micahel C. Fina in 2004 as vice president of total recognition. Previously, he was president and founder of FMT recognition

Carey P. Hendrickson has been named vice president of human resources at Belo Corp. He will continue to serve as Belo’s vice president of investor relations. Hendrickson has been with Belo for 15 years and began his career as manager of financial planning and served as assistant controller.

Jessica Simmons has been appointed vice president and general manager for the Sage Abra HRMS business at Sage Software. She most recently was vice president in the HR outsourcing division of Aon Consulting Worldwide.

Bruce Johnson has been promoted from COO to president of GHX. Johnson joined GHX in 2000, initially serving as vice president of marketing.

Tina Facca has joined MRINetworkTM as vice president of marketing. Facca joined MRINetworkTM from TravelCenters of America, where she directed marketing.

Timothy Bird has joined Lincoln Employer Markets Group as assistant vice president of risk services. He most recently was with the Hartford Life Insurance Co.

Marie Charvat has been named vice president of the business process group at Lincoln Employer Markets Group. Charvat has been with Lincoln Financial Group for 32 years, dating back to when it was Jefferson Pilot Financial.

Scott Hanson has been named vice president of group underwriting at Lincoln Employer Markets Group. He was assistant vice president of underwriting for the group insurance team.

Paul Martin has been appointed vice president of employee care center services at Lincoln Employer Markets Group. Prior to joining Lincoln, Martin was site head of the disability center for Aetna Insurance.

Timothy Sexton has been named assistant vice president of human resources at Lincoln Employer Markets Group. Prior to this role, Sexton was leading the HR function for Lincoln Life and Annuity. His previous positions include human resource manager at Fluor Corp. and North American Human Resource Manager for Umbro International.

Gail Foresyth has joined the Castleton Group as benefits education coordinator.

Thomas Webb has been appointed vice president of F&H Solutions Group. Prior to joining F&H Solutions, Webb served as principal and founding partner for Western International Strategic Enterprise and Western International Management.

Byron Beebe has been named U.S. market group consulting leader for Hewitt Associates’ Midwest region. Byron has been with Hewitt for 15 years

Andy Hiles has been named U.S. market group consulting leader for Hewitt Associates’ Southeast region. Hiles previously served as Hewitt’s national solutions leader.

Lana Hillebrand has been named U.S. market group consulting leader for Hewitt’s Western region. Prior to her appointment, she led the consulting sales and accounts team for the Western region.

Petra Slater has been named U.S. market group consulting Leader for Hewitt Associates’ Northeast region. Slater has been with Hewitt for 10 years.

Eric Herr has been named chairman of the board at Taleo. Herr had been serving as chairman of the audit committee. He has also held senior-level executive positions with Autodesk and Sun Microsystems.

Michael Pauletich has been named senior vice president of eQuest Media. Prior to joining eQuest, Pauletich was senior vice president of strategy and corporate development at TMP Worldwide.

Ron Labez Gandiza has been named vice president of business development at CourseMax. He is a 17-year veteran of the training industry, spending most of his career designing and building enterprise-level training programs for both the U.S. Army and Air Force.

Dave Siebert has joined Ciber Enterprise Solutions, a division of the Ciber Inc., as senior vice president. Prior to joining Ciber, Siebert was president and CEO of NetRegulus.

Frank Veros has joined PRC as vice president of the automotive vertical division. Veros was with Ford Motor Co. for 30 years and held numerous leadership roles in Ford’s marketing, sales and services division.

Anthony Enright has been appointed senior vice president of sales at Agility. Enright spent the past seven years with UPS Supply Chain Solutions as senior director of global program management.

David Reynolds has joined Hudson Highland Group as vice president and corporate controller. Reynolds most recently was vice president and controller for Bally Total Fitness Corp.

Stephen Langton has named regional managing partner of Asia-Pacific leadership consulting at Heidrick & Struggles. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles this year, Langton was in various leadership consultancy positions with A.T. Kearney and TMP.

Stephen Miles has been named regional managing partner for Americas leadership consulting at Heidrick & Struggles. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles in 2000, Miles held numerous positions at Andersen Consulting.

Steve Walter has been named vice president of sales at Michael C. Fina. Walter joined Michael C. Fina in 2004 as national sales director. Previously he was director of sales at NTT/Verio, where he was responsible for the mid-Atlantic region.

Richard Tuck has been promoted to national sales director of the central region at Michael C. Fina. Tuck joined Michael C. Fina in 2006 from O.C. Tanner Recognition Co., where he served as regional manager for 26 years.

John Kaiser has been appointed CEO of Crdentia Corp. He most recently was CEO of Aperon Biosystems. Before that, Kaiser was founder and CEO of VetMedSupply.
 

Joe Gurth has been appointed director of business development at Paragon Relocation Resources. Gurth comes to Paragon from Mobility Partners, where he was asset manager of real estate development.

Carol Leach has been promoted to vice president of global community and employee services at Affiliated Computer Services. Most recently, Leach supported executive staffing within ACS’ commercial solutions group and oversaw all national HR initiatives. Prior to joining ACS in 1995, Leach was with United Parcel Service as employee relations manager.

Mary Lotz has joined Buck Consultants as director of the company’s Phoenix office. Lotz joins Buck from TriWest Healthcare Alliance, where she was manager of Internet and database development. 

Larry Laws has rejoined TRG as CEO and member of the company’s board of directors. Laws founded the company in 1993 and left in 1997. 

Paul Straub has been promoted to senior vice president of global finance for Right Management. Previously, Straub was senior vice president of finance and operations for the Americas. Before this, he was senior vice president and corporate controller at Right Management.
