Tops in Executive Education

The Financial Times’ annual list includes U.S. and European schools.
By Mark Larson

Harvard’s Best: The Financial Times’ annual executive education survey has ranked Harvard Business School as the best among open enrollment programs worldwide. Seven of the top 10 institutions in the ranking are based in the United States.

Open enrollment programs are open to all applicants, and aren’t customized for any one company. The Center for Creative Leadership was the only leadership school making the top 10.

Stanford University Graduate School of Business ranked second in the category, followed by the University of Virginia, Darden, third; University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, fourth; Switzerland-based IMD, fifth, North Carolina-based Center for Creative Leadership, sixth; Spain’s Instituto de Empresa, seventh; Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management, eighth; Spain’s Iese Business School, ninth; and, at 10th, Massachusetts-based Babson Executive Education. In all, 50 schools make up the list, which was released May 14.

The annual ranking of executive education programs was based on surveys of organizations and individuals around the world who rated the leading providers, such as Harvard, Duke and the London School of Business, for quality and impact. Duke Corporate Education led the list for custom programs. Click here for the complete rankings in both lists.
