Benchmark Your Organization's Performance for Redeploying and Retiring Employees

Research by APQC, a nonprofit organization internationally recognized as a resource for process and performance improvement, indicates that there is a wide gap in the total cost it takes to redeploy and retire employees. For example, a high-performing organization spends about $22 per employee, compared with $199 per employee in a low-performing organization. This may indicate a significant opportunity to increase productivity at low-performing organizations through process enhancements, technology improvements, or both.

Where does your organization stand? Participate in this free online "redeploy and retire" benchmarking survey sponsored by Workforce Management, APQC and IBM to see how your key practices measure up to those of top performers. This joint initiative provides participants with a look into how their organization compares in terms of key cost, productivity and efficiency metrics through assessment questions on such processes as managing the promotion and demotion process, managing retirement and managing expatriates.

Click here to preview the research questions, view a sample report and submit your data. You'll receive your complimentary benchmarking report with an overview of the practices and processes that top organizations have in place to achieve peak performance.

  Least ‘Employee-Friendly' States

Posted in the Legal Forum:
A reader writes: "Does anyone have any suggestions about how to find out which state's laws are considered least employee-friendly? I've been told that honor would likely go to Florida, but my new CEO asked the question and I wanted to be able to support my answer with some facts. I haven't been able to find anything yet with an Internet search, and it may only be subjective info anyway. Any ideas?"

It's Madness to Worry About March Madness

There are lots of workforce consultants who seem to think that the NCAA men's basketball tournament and the focus some people will have on it, particularly this week, is the Scourge From Hell. I know this because I was inundated last week with e-mail pitches from consultants who want to be sources or offer their expert opinions on how March Madness saps America's workforce.
